Surprise!

 I’ll post pictures sometime next week, but I am thrilled beyond measure to have year-long unfinished project finally DONE, DONE, DONE!

For whatever reason, I usually put more effort and creativity into things for other people. With only a couple of exceptions, I typically cut-corners and take short-cuts when doing things for myself. But when it comes to other people, more often than not I knock myself out to go the extra mile or do things that push my skill level beyond where I had thought I could go. Why, I have no idea. It’s just what I do.

With a bit of nostalgia, and sadness, I will be putting the finished piece in the mail today en route to its recipient. I’d love to be there to see the expression on the recipient’s face, but alas… not meant to be just now.

For me, it’s simple. I take an extraordinary amount of joy knowing that I am surprising somebody and making their day just a bit better. So many people have done wonderful and sweet and considerate things for me – this is just paying it forward.
