A moment to think...

Hi world.

I just came back from lunch at Taco Adobe with my husbear. Lunch was pretty good, actually. The restaurant is in walking distance of the house. It looks a little odd because the building is very obviously an old IHOP that has been converted into a loudly-painted Mexican restaurant. We met with a financial planner who was giving us a presentation on what his company does in terms of financial guidance. I am thinking we should take advantage of their services. Gods only know, we are really bad about not knowing where the hell our money goes. And wouldn't it be nice, actually, to be able to retire someday?

The meeting that I had scheduled for this evening got rescheduled which makes me a very happy camper. I will take advantage of day-light hours to continue staining the deck. As I expected, the deck staining is taking its own sweet time. The only really good way to do it is, unfortunately, by brushing. The results are great, but it is a slow process. My husbear did an awesome job yesterday, and managed to get quite a bit done. I am hoping I can finish the other half tonight, which will just leave the lattice-work. The latticework is a proverbial beeyotch to do, but at least can be done at a somewhat leisurely pace.

Tomorrow night - a going away party
Thursday night - shopping and food preps
Friday night - a play
Saturday night - dinner party
Sunday - all day meeting.

Never a dull moment in my world.

We've just recently started working with a financial planner and really like him (and the goals we're now working toward). It sounds like you liked this guy but if you want to shop around, I'll give you Adam's info. We were referred to him by Colette and Ursul so he also came to us highly recommended. :)

Couldn't hurt. We'll see how our appointment goes.

I reckon this means you weren't in the panicked evacuation? Astonishing what goes on out west while us east coasters are sleeping...

Oh, no doubt! There we were, sitting on the couch last night watching mindless television, when the emergency signal came over the TV. FREAKY-DEAKY, eh? Fortunately, we aren't so close to the coast that we would be affected. But still... scary stuff when you think about it.

Yes, you would. You would have been run over by fleeing refugees...

Just make sure it's a fee-based planner rather than one who works on commission, or guess what he'll recommend you invest in?

Happy to hear that Tacos Adobe is decent. I've never been there, and it's even closer to me. :-)
