Very simple. When I moved to Caid, one thing that I discovered was an amazing amount of pride. Pride in Caid as a Kingdom. Pride in being part, and having been part, of years worth of tradition. Pride in a system where things seemed to work very well. Problems that had frequently been reported as happening in other Kingdoms seemed not particularly likely in Caid.
There exist some people in Caid who believe Caid *needs* to be more like the West. Truth be told, I'm not even sure what that means. But to be perfectly honest, I am of the opinion that each kingdom has its own traditions and its own way of doing things. If Caid has its own long-standing traditions that actually work, why change them to match anyone else's model?
I do not advocate keeping tradition just for the sake of doing it. If there are truly better or more efficient ways of doing things, then so be it. But I do not advocate throwing things out that have become part of the Kingdom culture, either. This game is a game enjoyed by many. And sometimes, a change - even what may seem like a well-meaning change, can make this game less enjoyable for a significant amount of people - such changes are not good.

Does that make more sense?
