As sleepy and overall groggy as I am this morning, it is nice to know that upon reflection, I can say that we had another wonderful weekend combining the best of friends, progress, relaxation, etc.

Friday night was "project night". After a crazy week of having something scheduled every evening, I was able to finally just come home, and take care of the little things that needed to be done.

Saturday, my husbear and I went in different directions. He stayed at home to work on the deck while I went off to C.P. Prize tourney. Yeah! An event where I didn't get helium-hand and volunteer to do anything! I love those. It was a great time. I enjoyed relaxing, and just wandering around saying hello to people, and socializing. By late afternoon, it was time to head back home to join my honey and some friends for dinner and cocktails.

Sunday was spent being productive. While Giley worked on various projects, I spent the day finishing off a Duc de Berry scroll that I have been working on for a while. It is done! DONE-DONE-DONE! I love being able to scratch things off of my to do list! (Yes, my name is Joe... and I am an anal-retentive). And in the evening, we got to join friends for another wonderful dinner get-together. That food! Oh, that food! Everything was wonderful. The chicken! The ribs! The ice cream... oh that ice cream! I knew better than to eat any of it, but I couldn't help myself. Sadly, I had a horrible night because of it. But, it was worth it.

And then on the 4th I had a rare opportunity to sleep in (a good thing given how terrible a night's sleep I had had previously). And then after an afternoon working in the gardening, moving plants around, and doing some very, very needed maintenance, we headed off to Pasadena to watch the fireworks with some friends. Our friends up there just bought a house that is in desperate need for work. But GODS what potential! These guys will unquestionably do an amazing job. I admire those who can do such things - my honey included. I am just too intimidated by HUGE projects with no end in sight. No thank you - give me my finished clean workspace any day.

As for the fireworks, incredible! We had a vista view over the rose bowl and watched that show. Wow, have fireworks changed since I was a kid. There were several burst that formed smiley-faces, and cubes, and shapes and figures that I had never seen before. It was just amazing.

All of this, of course, leads to me being one tired otter. BUT, at least it is a Tuesday morning, and I have Starbucks in my near future.
