Four days ago, my great nephew was born. Maddox Joseph Hayes.

For those of you who don't know, my family is the intergenerational divide. My oldest sister Roxanne was 17 years old when I was born. When my nephew Jason was born, I was 10 years old. I am just amazed to think that now he is a father. Wow, how time flies. Jason asked me to provide a baby ring for Maddox's christening. When I was baptised, my mother was given a tiny gold baby-ring which I wore. Since Jason was the first boy of his generation, he too received the ring. And now Maddox will wear it.

Wow... three generations... now I'm feeling old.

Protest

Outside right now, I can hear all the commosion. Car horns, instruments, people shouting, etc. Why? Because various individuals have decided to skip work today in protest of the immigration laws. They're point? Perhaps by being absent from work, the rest of us will realize how important they are.

Um... NOT!

I don't have an issue with any race or culture. I don't take issue with any particular stereotypes. Where I do take issue is with people who cheat and then complain. Sorry, but California has WAAAAAAAAAAY too damned many illegal immigrants. Why? Because frankly, we make it too easy. The laws are very loose in my opinion and should be TIGHTENED, not made even looser. The illegals out there insult those people who have taken the time and shown the patience to go through immigration legally. Sure, I can understand political assylum. Sure, I can understand fleeing for one's life. But there are still processes and procedures. Not only do some people think themselves naturally exempt from such things, but they bitch when pressed to conform like everybody else. It just ticks me off.
