Behind? Again?
Oct. 23rd, 2006 12:54 pmSweating it out at 1:00am on Sunday morning, I had finished just enough of my preparation for my Sunday afternoon dance workshop so as to make it functional. Checked off of my “to do” list were about seven pages of dance step notation notes and music downloads into my Ipod. Yes, I have finally gotten up to speed. After the disastrous realization at KWAR that my one-minute cue tapes were warped beyond use, music downloads are now my choice for dance class.
In terms of project preparation, I am not a procrastinator by nature. But sometimes, it is simply impossible to complete a project ahead of time because other projects bubble up to the surface with even more pressing deadlines. When my workshop ended late in the afternoon, I felt a combination of relief and pain. Pain because earlier in the day I had hurt myself when I slipped while practicing a yoga pose. Two vicadins and a couple of margaritas later, the pain had only lessoned slightly. The relief came in the form of realization – I had made my goal in converting my music files and getting my notes mostly up to speed. This means I can rest, right?
Oh no. No sooner did I get home, but I found an email asking if I would bring supplies to Collegium.
Erugh? OH CRAP! Collegium is next weekend!
I’m teaching two classes, and am mostly prepared for just one of them. Pulling out the daytimer, this week I have elevation preps to work on, an interview with a potential new roommate (whom I really, really hope works out), cooking projects to do, a dinner to prepare for, hosting of Kingdom Scriptorium, putting together my class notes, handouts to prepare, packing, and a casting project to design (which is just gonna have to wait until next week).
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
How the F#$*$%* do I keep doing this to myself?!
