Cheer?

I'm in a bit of a bluesy funk today.  Anybody got any spare cheer?

At work, I am professional.  Seriously - so much so that some of my co-workers are surprised when they find that I have hobbies, and friends, and a life outside of work!

Today, I was chatting casually with my boss.  My boss is pretty easy-going, and nowhere near as precisely by-the-book and P.C. as my previous boss.  After making an innocuous comment to him, he replied with, "Yah... that's why I'm such a hardass."  Apparently, my "Knows Better" filter was on coffee-break, because without missing a beat, I replied with, "Really?!... I wouldn't know."

By this time, my "Knows Better" filter was running panicked towards the front of my brain to catch the words before they escaped.  But it was too late.  Fortunately, my boss just blushed a little bit, laughed, and said he shouldn't have left himself open.  (Fortunately, by this point, my Knows Better filter was on-duty, thus keeping me from commenting on that last one!)
