Climbin' on in to the War Wagon on Friday afternoon, we schlepped our way to Western 12th Nite.  Not particularly surprising, I had a really wonderful time.  It was awesome to head up there with [livejournal.com profile] finella , [livejournal.com profile] castanley  and [livejournal.com profile] ursulthebear , and the laughs just never stopped.

Huh?  A truckstop?  The event was really held not in an actual city, per se, but at a truck stop?  Well... "Creative" is our middle name after all.

After checking into the hotel, we ran over for dinner to Anderson's where [livejournal.com profile] adelheit  joined us along with a couple of her buds.  Little did I know at that point in time how much fun and mischief we would all get into by the end of the event!

Much of Saturday involved Western Court.  Blah-blah-blah Uther.  Blah-blah-blah Jade.  (Does that narrow it down at all?)  But the fun really started around dinner time.  In a way, it reminded me of some of the really fun events I have been to before - regardless of what happens during the day, the REAL fun starts at dinner, and dance, and post-dance.

[info]finella and [livejournal.com profile] castanley both made FABulous food, so between that and the drinks (hiccup!) I was sooo ready for the dance floor.  I LOVED the ball!!!!  I don't know what I enjoyed the most - the fact that I wasn't in charge, or the fact that so many of the dances are the ones that I really really enjoy.

Following the ball, I tucked my hubby to bed, and headed off with [info]adelheit to join a group of courtesans (you know... like ya do).  WHAT A FREAKEN HOOT!!!!  Oh gods, I had so much fun.  Was it the candid conversation?  Was it the laughs?  Was it the absynthe?  Oh who cares?  I had such a great time, and met some new BFF's (Call me!)

Schlepping back on Sunday, we were all pretty tired and roadweary.  After all, anything over a 2 hour drive to a Caidan is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR.

OK, only one more SCA holiday event to go.  At Caidan 12th Nite, I'll probably be in the kitchen most of the time (SWEEEEET!), but I look forward to the fun and festivity.

Vivat fun events!!!!!

1.  What was the most "spot on" gift that you RECEIVED this holiday season?

The Ephraim pot that my dearest hubby got me.  GORGEOUS!!!!

2.  What was the most "spot on" gift that you GAVE this holiday season?

Had to be the bacon salt gift pack that I gave to  [livejournal.com profile] woe_sis .  The look on her face when she saw the box marked "ultimate bacon lover's" was just priceless!!!!

3.  What was the most "spot on" moment from this holiday season?

Probably when I looked around through the evening at our Open House and saw lots of people, lots of smiles, and realized that we really do have it good.
