And for dinner... Romance!
Jan. 8th, 2009 12:03 pmThe other night, my hubby and I treated ourselves to dinner out. Why? No particular reason, other than we both had a Tuesday night free, the rest of the week looked crazy, and it had been a while. Destination - the White House.
No, not THAT White House... the one in Anaheim...

If you have never been to the White House, I HIGHLY recommend it. It is pricey, but SOOOO worth it. The building itself is a restored Victorian mansion (POINT!) It is covered in fancy-fru-fru decor (POINT!) And, of course, the food is just outstanding.
If I am not mistaken, the first time we went there was for an anniversary dinner. Shortly after arrival, I felt something was just a bit... different. The waiters were all... how does one put it? Oh hell, the waiters were all HOT! And they seemed particularly attentive to our table. WTF? Turns out, the Executive Chef/Owner is gay, and likes to surround himself with... um... uh... attentive waiters who happen to be hot. Works for me! Many of them appear in the cookbook (which if you haven't seen, is a true HOOT!)
The food is a true work of art. Not only is it just delicious, but these guys understand the importance of making food as much of a visual spectacle as it is a taste sensation. Dishes frequently look like archetectural elements or surreal works of art.
The decor... the candles... the food... the surroundings... my hubby... what more could a guy want?
