A Very Happy Reunion

PAUL IS BACK!
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!
PAUL IS BACK!!!!
Gods, this was just AWFUL. He was gone for almost two weeks, making this the longest that the two of us have been apart in the…(thinks about it for a while), over seven years that we’ve been together. So along those lines, I must confess a moment of squishy-goo.
On Sunday, I took a break from evil-house-projects to head up to the Getty to catch the current exhibit. A friend of mine who lives close to the museum also wanted to come along. By coincidence, his name is also Paul. Also by coincidence, he is a big hulk of a guy. When I went to pick him up, he greeted me at the door. And in typical manner, we found ourselves locked in a great big bear hug. And… I just spontaneously began to cry. “What’s wrong?!” he said, all worried. “I MISS MY HUSBAND!” I said, trying to fight back sobs. “So just hold me!!!!” We stayed locked in a hug for a while as I fought back acting like an insecure git, knowing full well that Paul would be flying back home the next day.
Fast forward to yesterday, and I left the gym following an achy-owie yoga session, all excited to drive to the airport. As I pulled out of the parking lot, I received a text from my hubby confirming that his plane had just touched down. SQUEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
We had a very joyful reunion at the airport, and began to catch each other up on the past two weeks on the drive home, before walking in the front door to the welcoming smell of dinner in the oven. We dined. We chatted. He unpacked many a wonderful treasure that he picked up for me in his wanderings. And in no time at all, he found himself crashed out in bed for a very well-deserved and much-needed rest from a long trip.
Welcome home, love of my life. Don’t ever leave for so long again!!!!!!!!!
