SCA progress and several reality-checks
Sep. 10th, 2009 10:49 pmOK, another Baronial council done. Only 9 more months and I'll be done as Seneschal!!!! MUST... KEEP... GOIN'!!!!
Collegium is comin' up. CRAP! How does it always sneak up on me? Am I teaching this time? Oh, who the hell am I kidding? Of course I'm teaching. Cooking? Yes.. oh wait, no. No cooking. Two dance classes. Whew! One, I've got down. The other... oh CRAP! I have stuff to prepare!
GWW - SOOOO many things I would love to have done for the pavillion. But again, that is gonna have to wait.
Food prep for GWW. Looks like I will be doing group-cooking. YEAH! Crazy freak that I am, I actually love, love, LOVE doing that. I love the idea of doing something in like manner to how they were done. I love being able to make a delicious meal without the "convenience" of modern cooking. I love having people go, "wow... this is nummy!" Even when people remark about it looking pre-digested. :-)
I will be helping my apprentice grandbaby at GWW in her preps for vigil-madness-MADNESS-madness. That'll be fun, and (dare I say?) may have to involve a lot of booze.
Then comes Coronation. Aside from all of the local challenges in getting ready, there are my own deadlines....
Kneeling cushions. My part is (I think) done... for the moment. We have all the embroidered territorial patches (new and old). Now to create new pillow covers, attach the patches, and create the couch-work pattern. Oy!
There is my new outfit - 15th century Italian to the hilt! But I still have the handsewing to do. Ack.
Then there is "the sleeve". No, not my sleeve. My sleeve for my evil sister-cousin, Finegula. It will be cool. It will be STUNNING. It will be possessed by Satan.
Then there is the scroll that my faboo hubby and I are working on. Take one dead calf, skin it, do all kinds of nasty things to it to make it in to paper, apply lots of walnut goo, pigments, and paints, and you too may have a really cool thingy to frame on the wall. Oh... this too is possessed by Satan.
Can you tell I'm giddy? I've got a lot of irons in the fire, and even more that I wish I had time to put in the fire.
Butcha know what? I wouldn't want it any other way.
