Yep, it has finally hit. I have a winter cold, and I’m not thrilled. I had a rough night alternating between too hot, too chilly, and having a faucet running in my head. This one came out of the blue – no warning. Yesterday, I felt fine. I ran around at my usual pace, got a lot done, and headed off to the gym. The gym kicked my proverbial butt! I haven’t been to a yoga class in a few weeks, and WOW was it obvious. I started off with about 45 minutes of cardio, which left me a completely drenched mess, and then an hour of being pretzel-boi. The most interesting thing about the yoga – I was ok at getting into all of the poses. The most challenging part for me involved going from a flat-back forward fold to slowly standing upright. My sacrum has not been happy with me for about a week or so, and was grousing last night like an old man shaking his cane from his front porch at the young whippersnappers. The hottub was just a little warmer than normal, and felt absolutely incredible on my Statler & Waldorf back. And by the time I got home, I felt fine.

Today I decided to come in to work. I have my office door closed, and I am sucking down Airbornes as quickly as I can to build up that Vitamin C reserve. My hope is that sheer stubbornness will win out over the common cold. (One can dream) As usual, I really do not have time to feel sick, as I have a lot of things to get done. But yes, before you all jump me about not making myself worse, I will take it easy if I am not feeling better later on.

Onwards with the day. Hack! Cough! Sniffle!
