Ya know… this has really been a most “interesting” week. The biggest task for me, of course, is preparing for Barons’ Feast on Sunday. For the non-SCA peeps out there, this is a full-day laid-back outdoor event where Paul will oversee and organize game competitions while I spend the day cooking. From 9:00 to 5:00, I’ll be making medieval and renaissance foods for somewhere between 50 and 65 people, approximately – breakfast, brunch, lunch, snack, dinner, and dessert. So yah…. it’s a bit of work – and the preps began last Friday.

Now, between that and the regular stress of work deadlines, the average Joe would find himself fairly fatigued. Now, add on a few other little things such as car-break-ins, both of us fighting sinus/coughs/colds, quite a bit of hand-holding of various individuals who have needed some pick-me-ups lately, and that little incident with the momma possum who decided to make a home for her many stinky little babies in our antique pipe-organ in the front parlor; and I SHOULD be a basket-case, right?

Yet, for some bizarre reason, I’m oddly calm.

I’m not at all complaining. I’m HAPPY that I’m calm. This is just… unusual. I guess I keep looking over my shoulder expecting the freak-out-monster to appear.
