Project progress
Nov. 1st, 2005 08:56 amWooHOO!
Last night, I had a mission (cue up M.I. music here). After hitting the House of Pain (which really lived up to its reputation), I travelled home, scarfed down some leftovers, drew the portiers to block the light from would-be goblins, and spent the next several hours hunched over a block of soapstone. The result - I *believe* a workable mold for the pilgrim badges for the Pilgrimage to Rome event. WooHOO! Assuming everything is ok, tonight will be casting-night. I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope.
I HATE the fact that I am causing my friends stress by not having this project done as early as I normally do. On the one hand, as long as they are in the hands of my east-coast homies by the middle of the month, all is well. On the other hand, I know that >> I << don't like it when people make me wait until the last second, so I hate it when that is what I do to other people - even when it comes down to "circumstances beyond my control." Gak.
Well, no matter. I'm makin' progress - yeah! I only had one little flaw happen to the mold. One tiny chip flew out at some point in either the carving, or during the slush casting. Nothing that cannot be cleaned up after casting. Hopefully, that'll be the one mandatory fuck-up to my project to prevent the gods from being angry. :-)
Wish me luck - tonight is casting-night.
