House updates
Mar. 22nd, 2008 07:18 pmFINALLY finding an open (made so because we scheduled it way in advance) weekend day that did not have a disaster, a sickness, or some other crisis involved, we set out task at hand to make some home improvements.
To bring some of you up to speed, the house has seen many a restoration project. Not all that long ago - just a few months in fact, our front entryway looked like this...
Once the plaster was repaired, and the panelling put in place, and a coat of paint applied, ceiling medallion painted and installed, and a new reproduction art deco hanging lamp installed (all done in the simple snap of the fingers of course... NOT!), we moved onto the next phase... the hanging of the Bradbury and Bradbury wallpaper reproduction of the pattern by William Morris made originally for the St. James palace of the same name.
Posh Is Us!
The morning started out with the fates being against us. Our most ominous warning? An ancient sign of doom and gloom known throughout history... the lazy twisto cat of judgement...
( Useless cat )
Not all that long after we ignored the signs, we set to work. In this photo, I can only imagine that I came to the conclusion that wallpaper paste smells like sarcasm...
( sarcasm )
Next, we find our two intrepid, yet foolish leads to the story held some sort of dialogue. "Are you sure you know what you are doing?" asks the naive one. "Sure," said the strong, defiant, and taller of the two. "I read about it on the internet."

Contrary to popular belief, hanging wallpaper is not as glamorous as one might think. Despite the images one sees in all the tabloids of celebrities hanging their own wallpaper, truthfully it just isn't quite as much fun as all that...

Yet, when all is said and done, I gotta admit... it is just yummy!
( Done! )
Not bad for a days work. Now... where's my G&T?
