My civic duty

Today, I spent the day in the jury assembly room of the superior court waiting... and waiting... and waiting... to hear my name called to serve on a jury. Once again, I was not called.

The closest I came was this last time around. I was the very last person dismissed from a trial. I actually DO wish to serve on a jury one of these days, and fulfill this important civil obligation. Not this time, though.

Oh well... at least I got to work on the documentation for my Opus Anglicanum, and also read more about 14th century costuming. :-)

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who actually WANTS to serve pn a jury. I was called last week and my name was drawn for 3 trials so I was really excited but none of the cases ended up going to trial.

I've done the call-in thing for jury duty 4 times and actually had to go down to the courthouse 3 times but I've never served on a jury either. Liam has been on a jury once and was picked to serve a second time but was dismissed. He was very OK with that.
