A holiday weekend of art

Dragging my tired butt in to work this morning, I feel completely exhausted after another horrible night trying to sleep. Somehow, a full hour of intense yoga and two lingenberry-tinis did nothing to calm down my zoom-zoom-zoom brain last night. When I did finally fall asleep sometime around o-dark-thirty, I found myself in the middle of an anxiety-plagued dream involving a plane-crash in South America, and trying to make my way out of the wreckage. Ugh!
Why so much anxiety? Darned if I know. If anything, I should feel relaxed after this weekend. I made a lot of progress on artsy-fartsy things. Hmmm… maybe that is the source of my anxiety. Progress is not the same as crossing an item off of the list. So despite making a lot of progress, most of the projects are not actually “Done”. (I don’t try to make sense out of my brain. I am just as lost with what makes me tick as anybody else).
In any case, projects worked on this weekend included:
Finishing off the calligraphy and illumination on a Norman-conquest style SCA scroll;
Pattern for my new farsetto;
Progress on the reconstruction of a Tudor era English dance;
Cooking projects;
Embroidery (opus anglicanum and canvaswork);
Soapstone carving for a casting project;
And a massive amount of gardening (roses, alstramarians, sweet peas, hydrangeas, azaleas, and we finally got our Anglo-Saxon era apple tree in the ground. Woot!)
Gods, now if I could just get some restful sleep!!!!!!!

Date: 2009-02-18 12:27 am (UTC)I didn't sleep well last night. I have a major kink in my neck that's giving me a headache today.
I made a lot of progress on an art project also over the weekend. But I realized today, that I need to start over.
