Just for the sake of argument, let’s say that you needed to have emergency heart surgery. Now, for the sake of argument, let’s say that Sarah Palin decided that she wanted to perform said surgery. Would you let her do it?

Well gosh and golly, all ye mavericks – why ever not? Could it be because, oh I dunno, she doesn’t know what she’s doing?

Now let me ask you this – why should that matter at this point?

I, for one, am embarrassed that the news gives that publicity-whore so much press and airtime. She is a failed former State governor who turned her back on the people that she represented to seek higher and bigger platforms of attention. No more, no less. It is time that we stop giving that whore the attention that she craves so fiercely.

As the nation mourns the tragedy suffered in Arizona, the media turned to Grizzly Madams to make a statement. Um… WHY? Who the hell is she to make a statement, and who gives a brown bear’s ass WHAT she thinks? To me, that makes just about as much sense as turning from Ebert’s review of a movie, and then asking her for an opinion. The woman can barely pronounce the words on the teleprompter. I’m sure she doesn’t understand several of them. And I for one don’t want to hear that screechy voice of hers blather on any gosh-darn longer.

Seriously people. Her fifteen minutes of fame are over. Don’t give her any more of your precious time or attention.

As much as I dislike her, I think the reason she is being brought up in this case is because she had posted a graphic on her website that showed Gifford's district with a gunsite/target on it. A graphic that was quickly pulled after the shooting happened.

While I agree completely with the sentiment how is this any different than all the other people who are simply famous for being famous? Paris Hilton and the Kardashian's come to mind along with so many more. Why do we make some people famous and not others? It certainly has nothing to do with their skill or competency.

I agree with you. But Paris Hilton doesn't have the potential of being handed the "nuk-u-lar" codes.

At this point, I think Palin's extremely unlikely to get elected Pres. She's squandered her political influence on instant stardom: "I'm not the Governor anymore... I'm a TV host!" and her hypocrisy is a) rampant and b) hugely public and easily documented. She'd be a tough sell to the moderates of America.

That being said, if she does manage to make it, I'm moving to Canada.

but but but...

You're doing in this post what you want stopped. If you want change you need to start in your own home, Right? Btw; I'm a republican who agrees her time should be over, but talking about it just prolongs it. You do know the media data mines the blogosphere to help track consumer intrests right? So in short we are both contributing to her notoriety extention just by his discourse. What you gonna do, it's a delema to be sure.
